19-12-2023 Análisis de datos de estudiantes para mejorar la toma de decisiones de directores de colegio
El objetivo de esta oportunidad de investigación es aprender a analizar datos y comunicarlos a una audiencia no experta, a través de la participación en el análisis de datos del programa "Explora tu Talento", con estudiantes de segundo medio de colegios vulnerables. El producto final será un informe para los colegios participantes que contenga un resumen de la información recolectada desde los estudiantes respecto a sus preferencias de carrera y aspiraciones. Este será un insumo para que los directores puedan tomar mejores decisiones sobre la oferta de electivos que deben poner a disposición de sus estudiantes, actividades de vinculación con actores de la educación superior, entre otros. Se requiere saber STATA o R y es necesario haber realizado el curso de Estadística. Este proyecto busca que estudiantes participen de una revisión sistemática de literatura académica y un análisis cualitativo de entrevistas realizadas a directivos de colegios. Esto con el propósito de avanzar hacia una propuesta de cómo utilizar datos para tomar decisiones a nivel escolar.

04-01-2022 Attraction and retention of women in STEM careers
Historically, women have been underrepresented in the fields of engineering and science. In the US, the percentage of bachelor's degrees awarded to women in 2019 ranged from 52% (Environmental Engineering) to 13% (Computer Engineering). In the same year, the percentage of professional degrees awarded to women in Chile ranged from 55% (Environmental Engineering to 8% (Computer Engineering). Although the proportion of women has increased over time, gender disparities in engineering still remain. Given the interest in achieving greater participation of women, different types of efforts have been invested to attract women to engineering. This research seeks to understand the reason for these differences, examining initiatives to attract and retain students This will involve reviewing the literature and contributing to the design and implementation of mixed methodologies (quali / quanti), collaborating with the DRS and the DEI.

13-07-2017 Transforming education in the University
It offers Research courses of 10 credits (as Optional of Deepening) for the second half of 2017, to support a research project on how to change the way of teaching a branch of engineering using technologies and digital resources. The student will support in the realization of an experiment during August and September, and in the subsequent analysis of the experience, and may even participate in the writing of a paper if you are interested. For IPRE, the student should go to a few classes in the industry involved (maximum of 10 in the semester), to support the teacher in intervention, review materials, to correct and support the subsequent analysis of the data collected.
