27-06-2023 Segmentation and classification of rocks in mining operations.
ChatGPT Within the field of the mining industry, one of the main activities is the fragmentation and crushing of rocks for material extraction. In this context, the accurate detection of rocks in mining operations becomes crucially relevant. However, rock recognition remains a problem. One of the challenges lies in the segmentation and classification of rocks based on their size. From this perspective, the objective of this undergraduate research project (IPRE) is to carry out the manual labeling of rocks present in mining operations and evaluate the performance of two neural network-based algorithms for rock detection and classification.

18-07-2022 Spatiotemporal patterns in ambient air pollution
Ambient air pollution has been analyzed by means of pattern recognition algorithms. Results from different algortihms and input parameters will be compared to establish sensitivity of output results to those different input options. As benchmark, known results from air quality modeling will be used for ambient PM2.5 and PM10 in several cities in Chile. The R software environment will be used in teh analyses.

28-12-2021 Selectivity of capsaicin analogs to TRP receptores
Here we aim to find a set of useful pharmacological capsaicinoids matching potency, affinity, pharmacotechnical properties, significant water solubility, and oral bioavailability. To this end, we studied a large set of capsaicin-derived molecules by first considering the geometric complementarity, explored the effects of introducing modifications into capsaicin’s head region, provided extensive pharmacological predictions, and finally extended our predictions to vanilloid family members.
