Potenciando el Análisis Conjunto de las Dimensiones de Costos y Tiempo en Process Mining
Estamos trabajando en un proyecto de investigación centrado en potenciar el análisis de la dimensión de costos con Process Mining. El objetivo es definir métodos (guías con pasos a seguir) para analizar costos junto a otras dimensiones, los que serán validados al aplicarse en procesos reales. Para lo anterior, hemos definido una serie de subproyectos. Este subproyecto se enfoca en diseñar métodos que explícitamente permitan analizar la dimensión de costos junto a la dimensión de tiempo. Entre las tareas donde podrías colaborar están: • Investigar métricas para medir la dimensión de tiempo. • Definir métricas para medir costos y tiempo conjuntamente. • Diseñar métodos que permitan visualizar conjuntamente ambas dimensiones. • Verificar la factibilidad de los métodos con datos simulados. • Validar la utilidad de los métodos con datos reales.

Enhancing Multi-Dimension Analyses in Process Mining
We are working in a research project centered on enhancing the analysis of the costs dimension with Process Mining. The goal is to define methods (step-by-step guides) for analyzing costs jointly with other dimensions, which will be validated through their application in real processes. There are several specific research lines within the project. Among the tasks where you can collaborate are: • Studying metrics for measuring the performance of costs and other dimensions. • Implementing ad-hoc methods that allow the visualization and analysis of costs and other dimensions. • Analyzing event logs under a multi-dimension perspective centered in costs.

Conformance Checking for the Big Data Era
'Process Mining' is the area of Data Science that analyses the PROCESSES using data. In Process Mining there is the problem of 'Conformance Checking': given a process Model (Petri Net, Process Tree, BPMN, ...) and data of the process execution, find the mismatches between them. Conformance Checking is used to detect protocol violations (medical, financial, ...), or to validate that the processes model used for decision making are faithful representations of the reality. Although it is a problem studied in the literature, its effective application in the Big Data Era is still far and full of challenges to solve. We are looking for motivated and hard-wordking students interested on researching those challenges. Open to IPRE (Regular and Summer/Winter) and Master/Doctorate (with possible complementary remuneration).
