Optimal planning of the interrogations and examinations in the school of Engineering, UC
Suppose that the school of Engineering to ask you to schedule the evaluations of each of their courses. How would I do it? Consider that there are dates available for each test, there are courses whose tests must be scheduled on different days as there are caps of hours, that there are some special courses whose sections are coordinated, and that it is desirable that the students have their tests well distributed over time. In this IPRE is looking for a student who is facing this challenge. It is expected that the student lift the goals and constraints of the problem in conjunction with professionals from the directorate of undergraduate school. Then, the student must formulate optimization models as a whole and provide a solution to the problem. It is highly desired to have knowledge of computer programming (such as Python or Java) and that the student feels comfortable working with optimization software such as CPLEX or Gurobi. It is expected that at the end of this IPRE deliver a functional prototype.
