Use of water rights curtailment as a flexible adaptation measure to the impacts of climate change
According to Article 62 of the Water Code, the DGA may limit the exercise of a right to groundwater through a temporary courtailmente if the exploitation of groundwater produces a degradation of the aquifer or part of it. This research project should study this instrument as an alternative measure of adaptation to the impacts of climate change. It is interesting to know about similar international experiences, details that should be considered in their application and demonstration of their use through a practical case in the Petorca River basin.
