04-12-2024 Análisis de fracturas vertebrales en mujeres con cancer de mamas
Las mujeres que son tratadas por cánceres de mamas suelen tener riesgos muy elevados a desarrollar fracturas vertebrales por compresión. El objetivo del proyecto es determinar, a través del análisis de imágenes de tomografías computarizaras a lo largo del tiempo, características con las que se podría ayudar a predecir fracturas vertebrales. Este análisis deberá realizarse a partir de herramientas de procesamiento de imágenes, redes neuronales y otras herramientas similares.

10-05-2024 Image analysis of collective cell migration in epithalial and cancer cells
Key characteristics of wound healing and cancer metastasis are migration of multiple cells with more or less degree of coordination (collective migration). In this project, we collected movies (time-lapses) of various types of cancer migrating on substrates of different mechanical properties. We are looking for students to develop and apply image analysis pipelines to analyze the time lapses. Analysis is done using a combination of computational tool that involve ImageJ (image registration, drift correction), MatLab (particle image velocimetry) and Phyton (statistical analysis and plotting). The student will have the opportunity to aid high-impact science in a dynamic and international environment.

04-12-2024 Analysis of vertebral fractures in women with breast cancer
Women treated for breast cancer are often at very high risk of developing vertebral compression fractures. The aim of the project is to determine, through the analysis of CT images over time, characteristics that could help predict vertebral fractures. This analysis will be carried out using image processing tools, neural networks and other similar tools.
