13-12-2019 Aspectos socioambientales y dinámica de metales tóxicos en ambientes urbanos: contaminación de suelos y polvos de calle
La contaminación de suelos y polvos de calle es una fuente de riesgo para la salud y bienestar de las personas, y muchas veces fuente de inequidad, donde los más pobres están expuestos a mayores riesgos. Lamentablemente, en Chile todavía no existen estándares de calidad para suelos urbanos y polvos de calle, lo que implica que los riesgos para la salud no sean considerados en la planificación de la ciudad. En esta IPRE los alumnos realizarán investigación bibliográfica, análisis de datos recopilados por CEDEUS, y cruces de información para alimentar la toma de decisiones, formulación de políticas públicas, y/o generación de casos de estudio.

13-12-2019 Socio-environmental issues and dynamics of metals: pollution of urban soils and street dusts:
The contamination of soils and dusts of the street is a source of risk to the health and well-being of the people, and many times source of inequity, where the poor are exposed to greater risks. Unfortunately, in Chile there does not exist quality standards for soils and urban dusts of road, implying that the health risks are not considered in the planning of the city. In this IPRE students will undertake bibliographic research, analysis of data collected by CEDEUS, and crossings of information to feed the decision making, formulation of public policies, and/or generation of case studies.

03-05-2019 Monitoring of the quality of places: quality and vegetation
In this research there will be a screening of the quality of places in Santiago. We will measure the presence of metals, nutrients, and aspects biophysical soil density and infiltration). It is currently unclear the distribution of metals in soils of squares, as well as the quality parameters of the soil for the growth of vegetation, which provides ecosystem services to the population, including attenuation of the contamination. During the project you will use statistical criteria to identify the squares to sample, take samples, analyze these samples and it will generate a report where to report the methodologies, and analyse the parameters obtained. This project is part of a collaboration between researchers at the CEDEUS (www.cedeus.cl) that includes experts on environmental pollution, biophysics, soil, and vegetation.

Study on the effect of the parameterization of simulation models used for the prediction of water movement and contaminant transport in soils.
